Music gave UL the ability to relieve his anger; and when the anger left, God stepped into his life and revealed to him that he would be a successful bumbling ball of fire ready to share his story with the world. Shortly after his revelation and 10 years into his prison term, a guard walked up to him and told him that he had to leave, for his time was served.

Admissions & Financial Aid

Admission

Admission to U.S.E. is a simple, yet formal, process. In order to become a trade or degree-seeking student you will need to complete the following process. All students who wish to be admitted into U.S.E. must submit an online application. Students who wish to qualify for admission as a fully matriculated, trade or degree-seeking student must show official evidence of either high school graduation or a GED. Official evidence would be one of the following documents:

  • official transcripts
  • a notarized copy of your high school diploma or GED certificate (please do not send an original; it cannot be returned)
  • verification on another official document such as a notarized copy of your DD214

Applicants who currently serve on/in active military duty, the national guard, or reserve forces shall be eligible for admission, provided all other relevant admissions criteria have been met.

Transcripts must be from a nationally or regionally accredited 2 or 4 year post secondary institution.  If applicants do not meet the criteria for admission, they may enroll as non-degree seeking students. Upon completion of 5 credit hours of non-remedial course work, applicants may reapply for admission to the University.

No experiential learning, including time-in-grade, time-in-service credit or other certificate or training programs will meet the standard of qualification for unconditional admission, high school or GED requirements, or for transfer credit unless such work is recognized in the U.S.E. Guidebook. This restriction will be reviewed on a continuing basis as the University implements standard practices of experiential credit and portfolio review processes.

All prior academic credit from accredited institutions is included in the cumulative grade point calculation. The cumulative GPA is calculated by dividing total quality points earned by the total hours attempted. Please remember that all official admission documents must be submitted directly to U.S.E. regardless of circumstance.

Conditional Admission Requirements

Conditional admission to U.S.E. may be granted at the discretion of the admissions center. Conditional admission may be made if the prospective student does not qualify for admission by meeting the usual requirements, but in the opinion of the Center has qualifications that lead to the belief that academic success is a reasonable expectation. Conditionally admitted students are considered fully enrolled students and will be evaluated upon the completion of 12 credit hours of high school, undergraduate, non-fundamental or remedial courses. Conditional admits are only considered if the grade point average is critically close to the 2.0 guideline. If a student is admitted conditionally, the following guidelines must be adhered to:

  • The student may take up to 12 credit hours prior to an academic review. The student must attain a minimum of a 2.0 GPA
  • The student may only register for two classes per term
  • The student may not withdraw from more than one class during his/her first 12 credit hours attempted
  • The student must contact his/her advisor prior to enrolling each term
  • No grades below a "D"

If a student meets the guidelines above, has maintained a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0, that student will meet the enrollment conditions and continue enrollment in the University.

Fundamental list of Admission requirements:

  1. All applicants who wish to register for a course must submit an online application including a one-time $50.00 (non-refundable) application fee.
  2. Providing documentation of high school graduation or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or high school attendance transcript.
  3. Listing all colleges and universities you have attended or are attending must be listed in chronological order (including dual enrollment). You must include schools even if you did not complete a term. Failure to list all institutions constitutes academic misrepresentation and could result in your application being denied or your admission being rescinded.
  4. Fill out and submit the transcript release form for each institution you attended or in which you were enrolled. (FAX# 404-704-0238 and then mail originals to address below.)
  5. Requesting official transcripts of CLEP, DANTES, GED College level examinations, USAFI examinations Regent Standardized Examinations, or other advanced placement examinations is the responsibility of the applicant.
  6. Separated or retired service members may provide a notarized copy of a DD214; active duty members may provide a notarized copy of a NOBE DD2384.
  7. Military spouses/dependents must provide a legible copy of their military ID card (front and back). Applicant will NOT receive military rate until proof of active duty dependency is received.
  8. Having credits from outside of the United States evaluated by an approved agency if an international student.
  9. Knowing that U.S.E does give credit for work/life experience.
  10. Send proof of high school graduation, transcript request form(s), and any transcripts directly to U.S.E.:

    The University of Social Entrepreneurship
    1230 Peachtree Street N.E.
    Atlanta Georgia 30309
    Voice:1-800-742-1803

Once all of a student's documents are received the student will be notified of the admission decision. Students will receive an official program outline upon completion of the Registrar's evaluation, which will include courses for which transfer credit has been granted and courses left for degree completion

Financial Aid

At this particular time students are required to finance their own education.  U.S.E. offers competative course prices through our discounted/sliding scale ED Support Program.    The good news is that in a very short while U.S.E. will be  fully accredited institution with the U.S. Department of Education.  This accreditation would thereby grant U.S.E. eligibility to offer offer governmental financial aid.

Academic Honesty

Academic Honor Code

As members of an academic community that places a high value on truth and the pursuit of knowledge, U.S.E. students are expected to be honest in every phase of their academic life and to present as their own work only that which is genuinely theirs. Unless otherwise specified by the professor, students must complete homework assignments by themselves (or if on a team assignment, with only their team members). If they receive outside assistance of any kind, they are expected to cite the source and indicate the extent of the assistance. Each student has the responsibility to maintain the highest standards of academic integrity and to refrain from cheating, plagiarism or any other form of academic dishonesty.

Students are expected to be honest in all of their academic endeavors and present original work in all of their courses. All students are responsible for maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and refraining from cheating, plagiarism, or any other form of academic dishonesty.

Academic dishonesty is defined as: representing another person's work as your own, active complicity in any falsification, or violating test conditions. Plagiarism is defined as: stealing and/or passing off someone else's ideas and works as one’s own or using the work of another individual without crediting them.

Academic dishonesty is representing another's work as one's own, active complicity in such falsification or violating test conditions. Plagiarism is stealing and passing off the ideas and words of another as one's own or using the work of another without crediting the source.

Student Affairs

Ask U.S.E. students what makes this place special and you’ll hear about the U.S.E. Experience – all the traditions that come to life the moment you enter the university system. It’s about bonding with new friends, connecting with a club, being celebrated for individuality and finding safe and fun ways to unwind after class.

The Division of Student Affairs makes sure that these traditions stay strong and that each student feels safe and supported in exploring new challenges. By promoting self-knowledge, leadership, responsibility and diversity, we are cultivating student excellence every single day. We invite you to explore the student affairs division and we welcome you to set up a student club once you have been admitted into our university system.

Programs

U.S.E. maintains three active programs.  These programs include:

The Program of Social Entrepreneurship

The program of social entrepreneurship endorses the entrepreneurial quest of systemic and social impact through attentive concentration and implementation of business practices and strategies.  This program is outlined by the Getting Your Ducks In A Row Chart.  The Ducks In A Row Chart illustrates the demand for both social service and business organizations across the board.  This chart epitomizes organizational and infrastructural development and social entrepreneurship; and serves as a guide to:  1.) Help eliminate inefficiencies with conventional governmental and charitable approaches to social problems, 2.) Enhance economic development strategies, and 3.) Accelerate the strengths of individuals in business and social services field that yearn for sustainable and systemic solutions.

This program is specifically designed to assist students with credentialing their passion.  The type of degree that is offered for this program is an Ed.S. Degree (Education Specialty Degree).   The Ed.S. degree normally is granted at the end of the sixth year of collegiate study and falls in time between the master's degree and the doctorate. However, it is not necessarily viewed as intermediate between the master's and doctoral degrees.

The Program of Vocation, Life Skill, and Personal Development

The program of vocation and life skill development emphasizes trade, living skill, and personal enhancement education.  While acquiring accurate skills is vital for the work force, we at U.S.E. believe that skills can only go as far as the individual that maintains the skill. Vocation, life skills and personal development courses through this program are made available to students who seek to acquire necessary trade(s) to pursue their interests(s) and enhance the quality of their lives through concentration on basic living skills and wisdom.

This program is a certification based program.  Students with heavy passion for a particular subject under this program may continue to pursue the subject from a degree based prospective under the program of social entrepreneurship.   To this end, the program places a high premium on independent study carried under the personal direction of a distinguished organizational faculty.

The Program of Religious Studies

The program of religious studies conceives the notion and study of religion as a humanistic discipline, encompassing a variety of methods and approaches.  This program is designed to prepare students for both teaching and scholarly hood whether in personal practices of religion or in theological seminaries.

Course certifications are offered in this program however, students may pursue a religious/spiritual interest from degree based prospective under The Program of Social Entrepreneurship.  To this end, the program places a high premium on independent study carried under the personal direction of a distinguished organizational faculty.

About us

The University of Social Entrepreneurship is a research and trade based institution.   Its newly evolved concepts and philosophies were facilitated by cutting edged theorists who believed that social entrepreneurship could be taught and made applicable to any field of concentration.  The term “coincidental sociological workmanship” was coined by the University’s principal founder Shonell Peoples.  Peoples developed strategies to credential individuals in areas that they already excelled in from a social entrepreneurial viewpoint for the significance of solving some of the world’s most pressing and heartbreaking circumstances. She stumbled across such a phenomena through observation of groundbreaking truths revealed by a consulting tool known as the Getting Your Ducks In A Row Chart.  U.S.E. utilizes the Ducks In A Row Chart to teach readymade leaders to make the world a better place by positioning their business/nonprofit/ideas for success, and eliminating inefficiencies with conventional governmental and charitable approaches to social problems by accelerating their own strengths in the business and social services field to formulate sustainable and systemic solutions.

It is not uncommon to find that the students of U.S.E. are sought after by institutions relying upon their expertise to move their agency’s mission the next level.  Students encompass top level, self made and rare experience that shrewd individuals yearn to take advantage of.  Any student of U.S.E. will attest to their opportunity to:

  • Engage in a quest for truth and wisdom
  • See that human beings are present to themselves and have a narrative self understanding, and perceive that conscience and an understanding of the good are intrinsic to human beings and their ability to act freely
  • Learn to examine assumptions and prejudices that are a part of the modern worldview
  • Reflect on what might constitute the ultimate and overarching meaning of life by considering fundamental questions such as, Who am I,  Where have I come from? and where am I going?
  • Raise the questions of the mystery of existence and learn reasons for thinking there is an ultimate explanation for the existence of and order in the world—GOD
  • Gain an understanding of the other-related, communal nature of the human person and learn the moral justification for a government that protects human dignity against tyranny
  • Learn basic concepts in logic, become aware of the importance of language in articulating intuition as well as in conveying assumptions and ideas which are poorly thought out
  • Appreciate the basis in imagination, senses of human understanding, and the place of art in articulating creative insight into life and its meaning
  • Possess love, wisdom, and knowledge of the proposed field of interest and utilize aggressive outreach as the preferred mode of sharing
  • Demonstrate through their gifts that giving and receiving is reciprocal
  • Embark upon new discoveries by refreshing discoveries of the past
  • Implement sound business and entrepreneurial practices in order to advance the proposed field of interest
